Calendar response to google organizer triggering NDR - DMARC

Hello,

some of my office365 users are having this issue when accepting google invites. Any ideas on how prevent the false/positive? The workaround is to accept with built-in Outlook response button, but that still triggers the NDR. What workaround are you all using, email gateway rule to drop the NDR?

Hi symba1 and welcome to the forums!

If the workaround of using the correct Google provides links don’t provide any relief, then the issue is likely something else. There could be many reasons for a bounce. To name some:

  1. The recipient is forwarding the invite, breaking DMARC
  2. Lack of authentication
  3. Unexpected email path
  4. Rejection unrelated to DMARC

What the bounce say would help immensely in determining a possible cause. If you are a dmarcian customer, I strongly suggest you reach out to support@dmarcian.com so we can ask more specific questions about your email environment and look at more details.

If you are not, a redacted bounce to remove PII could be helpful. The error code alone would help confirm if the issue is related to DMARC at the very least. You can also send me a private message and I will be happy to provide additional guidance privately.
