Example.com is missing the required DNS TXT record to authorize the receipt of forensics reports from example.com. This is a requirement of the DMARC specification and you may be missing data as a result

I am getting the following Warnings / Errors

examplecom is missing the required DNS TXT record to authorize the receipt of forensics reports from examplecom. This is a requirement of the DMARC specification and you may be missing data as a result.

Where I am the owner of examplecom. How do I resolve this, shouldn’t my own domain be able to receive reports of my own domain?

Hi chrisan

See this article: What is "External Destination Verification"? - dmarcian

This warning is issued only when the domain of the RUA or RUF email addresses do not match the domain for which the DMARC record is published. For instance:

_dmarc.example.org
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@example.net;

In the example above, reporters would likely not send reports to example.net because the domain does not match with example.org, unless the external verification record was added.

Hi Asher, thanks for reply. Looks like I had a typo in my RUF email address that caused this warning. Sheesh!
